back on track

What a year - weddings, travel, lots of changes going on and hence not a lot of time or space for creativity.

Well I'm back into my crochet and sewing with a vengeance.
My first grandchild is due to come into the world about 21st January 2011. As the expectant parents have opted for a surprise rather than finding out the sex of the baby, I'm hedging my bets and creating both pinkie and a bluey blankets. Currently I'm crocheting the girl version in merino 4ply in winter white and various vintage pinks. I think it looks divine.
And, I've been sewing again. I found this handpainted, tie dyed fabric in an op shop (about a metre) and then had the pleasure of figuring and designing a dress to best use the fabulous animals.
Next I plucked this sweet print out of my stockpile of fabrics, matched up some pink for the trim and this is what eventuated.
Pictures of completed blanket to come soon.
